About Ajea Zahid
Ajea Zahid (b.2000. Karachi) is a visual artist, living and working in Lahore, Pakistan. Zahid's practice reimagines the figurative form within its environment, intertwining gestural expression and abstraction to subtly explore gender roles. There's a deeper layer of identity and isolation – subjects that resonate deeply with her nomadic upbringing within a naval family.
Zahid has recently graduated from the National College of Arts, Lahore. She has exhibited her work nationally at the VM Art Gallery, Tagh’eer Creative Space, Zahoor ul Akhlaq Gallery, Galley 6, Ejaz Art Gallery, Numaish Gah, and O ArtSpace as well as internationally at The Art Den, Dubai, and Frieze 9 Cork Street, London, Muscat Art, Oman. Zahid has also worked as a member of Our Shared Cultural Heritage, a youth-led program that explores the shared cultures and histories of the UK and South Asia. She is currently teaching at the National College of Arts, Lahore.
