'My work explores nature as an expression of divine love, using landscapes to reflect beauty, harmony, and spiritual introspection. Inspired by South Asian miniature painting, I combine traditional techniques with a contemporary sensibility to create meditative works that invite stillness and reflection. Through nature, I explore love as a quiet presence that connects the visible world to something eternal.'
Mahnoor Salman Khan (b. 1998) is a Manchester-based artist who graduated with distinction in Miniature Painting from the National College of Arts, Lahore (2021) and with a Master of Fine Arts with distinction from Manchester Metropolitan University (2023). Her practice weaves traditional South Asian miniature techniques with a contemporary sensibility, rooted in the belief that nature is a love letter from God, a quiet, enduring expression of care. Through meditative landscape paintings, she explores love as both vast and intimate, treating the beauty of the visible world as a fleeting sign pointing towards something greater and eternal, inviting the viewer into stillness and spiritual reflection.
Mahnoor has exhibited widely across Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and internationally, with participations at Pristine Gallery, Delhi (2024), Artescape Gallery, Islamabad (2024 and 2023 and 2022), Cotton On MCR, Manchester (2023), Ambiance Boutique Hotel, Hunza (2023), ArtSoch Gallery, Lahore (2022), Anna Molka Gallery, Lahore (2022), VM Art Gallery, Karachi (2022), Full Circle Gallery, Karachi (2021), O Art Space, Lahore (2021), and Quad Gallery, Derby (2020), among others.
