About Mays Al Moosawi
Mays Al Moosawi (b. 1994) is a visual artist from Muscat, Oman, holding a BA in Illustration from Coventry University and an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art, London. Her practice is rooted in the intimate connections between herself and the women who raised her, her mother, aunts, and grandmother exploring how their stories and beliefs shaped both their identities and her own. Through colourful, figurative, and expressive work, she creates a space where inherited experience and personal discovery converge, giving voice to the women behind her while simultaneously questioning and defining the self she is becoming.
Mays has exhibited widely across international platforms, with solo presentations at Cromwell Place, London (2023) and a private residence in Dubai (2025). Her group exhibition history spans cities including Los Angeles, Paris, Leipzig, Kuwait, Tehran, and Muscat, with notable participations at Subliminal Projects (LA, 2024), Galerie La La Land (Paris, 2023), Archiv Massiv (Leipzig, 2024), Hunna Gallery (Kuwait, 2025), Millbank Tower and OXO Tower Wharf (London, 2023), and most recently Cramer Street Gallery at the Hari Hotel Collection, London (2026). She is represented by Emergeast Gallery since 2019.
